Validity of EU COVID-19 certificates, issued both after the basic vaccination and booster shots, will be shortened to 270 days, Poland's Health Ministry reminds.
The change will become effective starting February 1, 2022. Validity of EU COVID-19 certificates will be shortened to 270 days. Until the change, the certificates were being issued for one year.
According to the latest regulations, if the date of the basic vaccination (with one dose of a single-shot vaccine and the second dose of two-shot product) falls on February 1, and more than 270 days after this date pass, the mobile certificate-verifying application will indicate the document has expired.
In order to extend the validity of the certificate, a booster shot will be necessary. Additional dose will extend the validity by another 270 days.
The Ministry of Health also reminds that EU Digital Covid Certificate will facilitate safe and free movement of EU citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic within the EU area. "The system of EU Digital Covid Certificate is created to eliminate differences in public health measures impeding the free movement and introduced by Member States. At the same time, the certificate will not be a pre-condition to travel, nor will be granting such right unconditionally," we read at the ministry website.
