25 years of TVN. Kasia Kieli: we're entering the next 25 years stronger than ever

25 years ago - on the 3rd of October, 1997 - TVN channel was launched for the first time. The nationwide television was a dream come true for a group of visionaries, who desired to bring the viewers news and entertainment on the highest level.

"This is a beautiful anniversary and we have plenty to be proud of, each person who used to work or works for TVN has reasons to be proud, because we have built it together. Courage, thinking forward, attempts to launch new formats, responsibility for what we're doing, but first and foremost, caring for the viewers and making sure we give them only what is the best," President & Managing Director Warner Bros. Discovery Poland and TVN CEO Kasia Kieli said on Monday morning in TVN24.

"I think that in recent years we've made a great leap forward, and that's because that we have evolved from the number one TV broadcaster - number one in Poland and setting trends - into the number one media group. Currently, we're broadcasting on all platforms, we have the best TV channels, we have the largest streaming platform in Poland (Player - edit.), we have fantastic internet websites, and somehow we've managed to pushed all of that forward," Kieli added.

TVN is part of one of the largest media corporations in the world - Warner Bros. Discovery.

"We're entering the next 25 years stronger than ever before, because we're doing it as Warner Bros. Discovery, as it happens to have coincided, and that opens completely new opportunities for us. Right now, we're still in the process of learning, but it will soon be seen on the screens. There's no other home like this, no other group putting TVN24 and CNN next to each other. The CNN that calls TVN24 its sister station. No other place with TVN, HBO, Player and HBO Max. All of this is now one family," Kasia Kieli said.

Kieli was also asked about her wishes for the viewers on TVN's 25th birthday. "I've always thought that on such big anniversaries both wishes and acknowledgements are in order. First and foremost, I would like to thank TVN viewers, because they are incredible, we can feel their sympathy for us, their support in every step we take, they are behind us also when times get tough, so they deserve huge thanks," she underscored.

"I wish them - and ourselves too - that we could meet their expectations, that we could be what they want us to be, because we work for them, we represent them, and so I wish they could find in us what they are looking for. Shows they will love, shows that will absorb them, information they can rely on, and the responsibility for our word that we've always shouldered, in order to make them stay with us," Kasia Kieli added.
