An unusual incident too place in Pabianice, central Poland. An unknown perpetrator entered a local property and stole a pot filled with fresh tomato soup. Whoever did that must have been really hungry as they ate the soup and left only carrots and other soup vegetables out by the door.
The incident took place on Sunday, March 19, in Pabianice. A woman named Anna prepared tomato soup for dinner and then placed the pot to cool down outside the house. A few minutes later, her fiancée went outside and noticed the pot was not there anymore, and carrots and other soup vegetables were left on the ground.
Pot of tomato soup stolen
"I live at a private property and so I simply put a pot of fresh tomato soup outside the window, which I have done many times before by the way. Around 7 p.m., my fiancée went for a smoke and saw that someone had taken the pot with the soup," Anna said.
"Only carrots and soup veggies were left by the door, someone doesn't like vitamins," the woman added.
Anna did not notify the police about the incident. "Now it's probably too late, but it's a pity the pot is missing as it was a gift. It was huge, Italian, must have cost around 1,000 zlotys," Anna added.
Up to five years in prison
"If the loss after larceny exceeds 500 zlotys, than we're talking felony here," said Anna Sobieraj of Łódź Voivodeship Police. "Such crimes carry up to five years in prison," she added. The police encourage the pot's owner to report the missing item.
