Gorzów police have detained a 24-year-old woman suspected of attacking and casting ethnically motivated insults at a 31-year-old citizen of India. The woman is said to have cast offensive words at the man, hit him and taken his waist bag with his money inside - Mateusz Sławek from the Lubusz Police Department said on Monday.

The police were notified about the incident last Friday (October 25). The foreigner is said to have been attacked at Kolejowa street in Gorzów. Police officers found out that a woman was the perpetrator.
"At first, she used offensive language and cast ethnically motivated insults at the man. She is said to have "encouraged" the 31-year-old to leave Poland. At one point, she hit the man in the face, and after he fell down, she took his waist bag with 500 euro inside, and ran away," Sławek said.
The man with facial injuries was taken to a hospital, and the police quickly determined who had attacked him. A few blocks away, the officers noticed a woman who, after spotting the police, tried to hide in one of the flats. She was detained shortly after.
The 24-year-old woman was questioned and charged with robbery and ethnically motivated insult. She pleaded not guilty of the said charged.
According to Sławek, the police and the prosecutor's office will be seeking temporary arrest for the woman. The charges she was presented carry a sentence up to 12 years in prison.
