A spokesperson for Kozienice Police Ilona Tarczyńska informed about the incident. On Wednesday evening, Sgt. Ireneusz Iwańczyk was performing his duties at the Kozienice hospital area. Suddenly, he heard a woman screaming. He immediately left his vehicle and ran towards a car parked nearby. He saw a future mother who just started to give birth, and her husband.

He pat the baby when it started to choke

"The officer put on gloves, and seeing the head starting to appear, he delivered the baby. When the newborn started to choke, he placed it in his palm and pat the child on its back. The boy responded by releasing his first voice," Tarczyńska said.

When the little one was already safe, the officer handed the newborn to his mother. Next, the fresh mother and her boy were taken under the care of hospital staff.

Delivering a baby in front of a hospital was quite an experience for the 30-year-old officer. "In a few months he will become a father himself and so for some time now he has been reading books about parenthood, which helped him to deliver the baby," Kozienice Police spokesperson stressed.
