Polish State Fire Service (PSP) carried out 2.349 interventions on Tuesday, of which 598 were fire-related - said the spokesperson for the Chief Commandant of the State Fire Service, Senior Brigadier Paweł Frątczak. None of the 254 scout camps were evacuated - he added.
As the PSP spokesman said, firefighters were dispatched 97 times to forest fires,of which 33 were in Masovian, 10 in Lower Silesian and 8 in Łódź voivodeships. Fire service also informed that forest fire in Świerże Górne near Kozienice has been contained, nevertheless, 10 hectares of the forest was lost in the flames. 26 firefighter brigades and 3 firefighting planes were dispatched to tackle the fire.
Fire service was dispatched 1.583 times to the so-called local dangers, of which 809 interventions were related to fixing damages caused by storm. There were 250 interventions in the Silesian, 155 in Lesser Poland and 99 in Świętokrzyskie voivodeships.
Frątczak also said that none of the 254 currently operating scout camps were evacuated on Tuesday. He added, that in 64 cases, communication was provided through fire service radio radiophones.
169 of Tuesday's calls turned out to false alarms.
