Poland's notorious road hog Robert N., nicknamed "Frog", known for his reckless racing through the streets of Warsaw, has been sentenced for 18 months in prison. He was supposed to report to serve his sentence in January, but he hasn't done so yet. The police also haven't taken him to jail so far.
"Frog" is mainly known for his dangerous racing in Warsaw, as well as between Jędrzejów and Kielce. Videos showing his skills were being posted online. The road hog has already been sentenced a few times before. He was supposed to report in prison to serve his sentence in January this year, but the man is still on the loose. The case was first reported a few days ago by Polsat News.
Court: police are carrying out arrest warrant
Warsaw District Court's press office told us it was in relation to a ruling from January 28, 2020. On that day, the court found Robert N. guilty for operating a motor vehicle on September 19, 2018, in Warsaw, despite having a ban do to so imposed by a court. The court sentenced him for 18 months in prison, and banned him from driving for 8 years. "Frog's" attorney had appealed against this ruling, but the District Court in Warsaw sustained the verdict of the first instance court.
The District Court in Warsaw also said that the convict failed to voluntarily report to serve his sentence and an arrest warrant was issued after him. Furthermore, the court said the police were responsible for carrying out the arrest.
Ineffectively, as it turns out. Polsat reporters found out that Robert N. was seen by his friends, who take part in illegal street races. They claim that "Frog" does not take part in them, but shows up at them in his car. The reporters also contacted Robert N.'s mother, who claims her son "is not hiding at all".
We have asked Warsaw Metropolitan Police why Robert N. still hasn't been brought to prison since January and at what stage the search for him is. We are waiting for a response.
"Frog's" sentences
The sentence that "Frog" should be serving now relates to the events from September, 2018. A police patrol stopped a Porsche for road control at Dywizjonu 303 street and found out the driver was operating the vehicle despite a court ban. Behind the driving wheel was Robert N. His Porsche was hauled away to a parking lot, and he was ordered to report at a prosecutor's office.
In 2016, his five sentences relating to road traffic rules violation became legally binding. At the time, the court banned him from driving cars for three years as punishment for racing in the streets of Warsaw.
In March, 2019, we wrote that Robert N. had also heard another sentence. In March, 2018, he was fined for racing in his sports Mercedes in front of a Warsaw shopping mall.
Also waiting to enter into force is a ruling by Warszawa-Mokotów court, which sentenced "Frog" for 30 months in prison for creating immediate danger of road disaster near Kielce.
