On Monday, after 5 p.m. the hearing of former Polish prime minister and current European Council's chief Donald Tusk before the Amber Gold scandal investigative commission came to an end. It lasted seven hours.

"I didn't feel like an animal fleeing the hunters," said the President of the European Commission, former Polish PM Donald Tusk after the hearing in front of the Amber Gold Affair Investigative Commission.

Donald Tusk testified before the commission for seven hours. Afterwards, asked by the journalists if he felt tired after such a long hearing, he replied: "no one can wear me down, it was just a warm-up".

He admitted that if there was something that surprised him, it was switching off of his microphone, which he did not expect. "That was unprecedented," he added.

"The session was rather unexpectedly calm. I won't comment on manners of some individuals, that's just another thing, but regarding substantial points it was calmer than I expected," said Tusk.

He added that he "didn't feel like an animal fleeing the hunters". He also underscored that none of the questions surprised him.

"Soft insinuation"

Tusk also commented on the words by the head of commission, Małgorzata Wassermann. After the hearing, she gave a statement in which she said that the findings of the commission clearly proved that Tusk had failed the test and had not handled governing of such a big country as Poland.

"It's my private impression, I don't want to offend anyone but this thesis that hadn't controlled the state services is, in my opinion, an actual capitulation by the commission, as me being responsible for these issues was the assumption in the first place. Law and Justice have been repeating it from the very beginning," said Donald Tusk.

He added that "when it turned out that even such biased prosecution and services weren't able to pin anything negative on me, the only thing left was this sort of soft insinuation that I hadn't had full control of the state".
