The Ministry of Health informed on Friday about 2,771 newly confirmed coronavirus infection cases, and death of 49 COVID patients.
A year ago, on October 15, Poland's Ministry of Health informed about 8,099 new coronavirus infection cases and deaths of 91 people.
On Friday, the ministry said 2,771 new infection cases and 49 COVID deaths were reported.
21 of those deaths were caused by COVID-19 alone, while 28 were a result of COVID and preexisting diseases.
Since the start of the pandemic on March 4, 2020, Poland has reported 2,933,834 infections and 76,067 deaths.
The ministry also said on Friday that 2,877 COVID patients were in hospitals, of which 257 were hooked to ventilators.
One year ago, on October 15, the ministry informed about 6,538 patients in hospitals, including 508 under ventilators.
The ministry added that 7,765 hospital beds and 831 ventilators across Poland were prepared for COVID patients.
Furthermore, 120,973 people were placed in quarantine.
Health ministry also said that 2,672,656 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far.
