The National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) recommends a judge from Poznań District Court, Wojciech Sych for the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber - the KRS chairman informed after Friday's session.
On Friday, the KRS convened to select a candidate for the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber, whose appointing it would later recommend to President Andrzej Duda. The Council examined five candidates.
"A judge from Poznań District Court has been recommended to fill the seat in the Criminal Chamber. The remaining four candidates were rejected," said judge Mazur after KRS session.
On Friday, the KRS os holding a session during which candidates for the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court are to be selected.
The National Council of the Judiciary adopted a resolution on Thursday regarding asking President Andrzej Duda to appoint 12 judges of the Supreme Court's Disciplinary Chamber. The remaining four 4 seats were to be filled in the next round of the vote, however, none of the candidates received the required majority of votes.
Request to appoint the judges will be sent over to President Andrzej Duda.
From Monday to Wednesday, four teams of the National Council of the Judiciary interviewed the candidates for the Supreme Court.
In the beginning of next week, on Monday and Tuesday, the National Council of the Judiciary will convene to fill the seats in the other two chambers: Extraordinary Supervision and Civic, said Leszek Mazur.
