Presidential poll: three candidates close in on Andrzej Duda

"Who would you vote for in the II round of presidential election, if the incumbent president Andrzej Duda faced Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Szymon Hołownia and Robert Biedroń" - this was the question the respondents were asked to answer in a poll conducted in January by Ipsos for OKO.press portal.

According to the survey, president Andrzej Duda would receive more than 50 percent of votes only if he faced Robert Biedroń in the run-off (the latter would receive 41 percent).

Furthermore, the results show that in a run-off against Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Andrzej Duda would secure 48 percent of votes, whereas his rival - 46 percent.

In case of a duel between Andrzej Duda and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the former would win with 47 percent, leaving the latter with 2 percentage points less (45 percent).

The exact same result would happen in case Andrzej Duda faced Szymon Hołownia in the second round - 47 to 45 percent in favour of the current president.

According to the poll by Ipsos for OKO.press, in the first round of presidential election Andrzej Duda would receive 41 percent of votes.

His top rival, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, would win 25 percent, Robert Biedroń would secure 9 percent, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz - 7 percent, Szymon Hołownia - 7 percent, and Krzysztof Bosak - 5 percent.

The first round of presidential election has been scheduled for May 10, the second - if needed - for May 24.

OKO.press points out that last year Ipsos conducted one of the most accurate polls. On October 13, the pollster released exit polls after parliamentary election. Law and Justice's result was underestimated by only 0.01 of percentage point, while Civic Platform's mirrored the final result.

Ipsos is the third-largest pollster in the world. In Poland, the company conducted exit polls after 2014 and 2019 EU Parliament elections, 2014 local elections, 2015 presidential vote, as well as parliamentary elections in 2015 and 2019.
