The first loaf of bread baked in Ryszard's bakery came out of the oven in 1973. The owner says that although he has been running his business for so many years, he does not remember such difficult and uncertain times. "Everything changes day to day, delivery to delivery. You just don't know what to build on these days," he admits.

Mr Ryszard Majchrowski has been baking bread in his Gdańsk bakery for nearly 50 years now. Although he can't complain on a shortage of clients, the ever-growing prices of products and bills are his main concern nowadays.

"The prices, the kind of delivery, the cost of the delivery of fuel, flour or other baking products "Everything changes day to day, delivery to delivery. You just don't know what to build on these days," the baker says.

Bills higher by 25% each month

Mr Majchrowski also complains his bill are 25% higher each month. If he added them together - he says - he would get a 100% increase within just a few months.

"No one knows what lies ahead, and what options we will have to supply ourselves with products, flour or fuels. No one knows, no one can predict," the baker added.

The ovens at the bakery are heated with coal. So far, Mr Majchrowski has some supplies left, but he doesn't know when he will exhaust. He admits that although he has been running his business for so many years, he does not remember such difficult and uncertain times.
