Deputy chairman of the European Commission will visit Poland on 18 June to discuss the judiciary reform and the rule of law issues.
"The visit of the European Commission’s deputy chairman, Frans Timmermans has been scheduled on 18 June. It will be a chance to continue the dialogue between Poland and the Commission regarding the rule of law", a top diplomatic source told Polish Press Agency on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, in the European Parliament in Strasburg, there will be a debate on the reform of the Polish judiciary and the rule of law in Poland. Mr Timmermans is expected to take part in it. On Tuesday, deputy chairman of the European Commission, who is already in Strasburg, participated in a debate dedicated to preparations for the EU summit in Brussels.
Shortly after, Mr Timmermans confirmed his visit to Poland on Twitter:

Meeting in Poland
Also already in Strasburg is the Polish deputy foreign minister, Konrad Szymański who will meet with the leaders of top parliamentary groups in Europarliament. Chief topic of discussion will be the rule of law in Poland.
A meeting between Szymański and Timmermans in Brussels had not been scheduled as the two will speak next week in Poland.
