Activists from the Czech protest group Kaputin assembled a wall of paper boxes in Prague on Sunday (February 24) to protest against the country's president Milos Zeman and Russian and Chinese influence on the country.
The protest took place outside Prague Castle, where Zeman has his office.
Protester Jana Alexandrova said Zeman's politics were pro-Russia and divisive for Czech society.
Zeman, in office since 2013, is keen to deepen relations with Moscow and Beijing, having sought more trade with China and calling for the removal of EU sanctions imposed over Russia's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region in 2014.
The protesters chose the day before the anniversary of the Communist takeover of power in then-Czechoslovakia in 1948 to stage their protest.
The date symbolised "what can happen when we don't take care of our democracy", protest organiser Otakar Van Gemund said.
Protesters also said they were appealing to Czech voters not to vote for populist or eurosceptic candidates in the upcoming European in elections in May.
