The Eastern Partnership, Western Balkans and EU external relations were among the topics of discussion between the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group countries in Łódź.
The meeting in Łódź was organised by Poland to mark the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group.
The host, Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau, said he was satisfied the talks "reaffirmed that supporting the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan states, both in their struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic and in their general Euro-Atlantic orientation, should remain one the Visegrad Group's priorities for the months and years to come".
Minister Rau also said he and his guests, foreign minister of the Czech Republic (Jakub Kulhánek), Slovakia (Ivan Korčok) and Hungary (Péter Szijjártó), "discussed the key aspects of EU's external relations, including prospects for further development of transatlantic cooperation, which our countries perceive as one of the pillars of our security".
This was the seventh meeting of the V4 foreign ministers under the current Polish presidency, which began in July 2020 and will end with the end of June this year.
Foreign ministers from the Western Balkan countries are expected to join their V4 counterparts in June during another round of consultations.
