"Over 30 years ago, the Polish gene of solidarity united the nation in the fight against authoritarian rule, and today it opens homes and hearts of the Poles to their neighbours from Ukraine. The world is watching you with admiration. Thank you for your solidarity!" - U.S. Ambassador Mark Brzezinski wrote in a tweet on Wednesday (August 31).
The ambassador attached a video of himself addressing the Polish nation.
Brzeziński: the world looks at Poland with admiration
"This great success would not have happened if not for the gene of solidarity in trying moments. We see that today as well. The Poles, like no other nation in the world, stand in solidarity with war-stricken Ukraine. They open their homes and hearts to their neighbours in a scale unprecedented in history. The world is watching you with admiration again," U.S. ambassador said in Polish.
"In this dangerous moment for Europe and the world, we need solidarity. Solidarity which you - the Poles - know and understand so well. We see how great is the power of partnership and cooperation between allies who share common values. Freedom-loving nations must remain united and in solidarity. I'm proud to be serving as U.S. ambassador to Poland in this historic moment. Thank you for your solidarity," Mark Brzezinski said in his address.
