The Command of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed on Monday (August 7) the commander of this formation Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev met with Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tomasz Piotrowski. "Both parties also discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, the security situation in the region, and ways of providing assistance to Ukraine in repelling Russia's armed aggression," Ukrinform said.
"During the discussion, having considered a set of issues related to possible challenges and threats due to the deployment of Wagner Group fighters in Belarus, Naiev emphasized the importance of continuing the exchange of information and experience of organizing combat work at command posts," we read.
Furthermore, the news agency said that Naiev "shared the peculiarities of the practical application of various types of foreign weapons and stressed the need for additional training of subordinate personnel in the operation and repair of Polish-made military equipment".
"Piotrowski supported this initiative and expressed respect for Ukraine's courageous struggle against Russia. He also added that Poland would provide constant and comprehensive support to Ukraine," Ukrinform said.
According to Ukrinform, Naiev thanked his Polish counterpart for significant assistance to Ukraine in defending its independence and freedom.
"The Republic of Poland provides powerful support to Ukraine's defense capabilities, which is a significant and undeniable contribution to the victory over the aggressor," the commander was quoted as saying.
