There is still no contact with the missing miners after Saturday's tremors in the Zofiówka coal mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. There still is, however, hope that they are alive and waiting for help. Rescue workers have to navigate extremely difficult, hazardous conditions to try and save them. In order to increase the safety of the operation, mining was suspended. Daniel Ozon, president of the Zofiówka mine, said 42 units comprising of five to six personnel each participated in the rescue efforts. He said the search area has been narrowed down to two tunnel sections totaling 275 meters in length.
