Kinga Duda has been appointed as social advisor to the President of Poland - according to the President's Chancellery official website. Her father, president Andrzej Duda, has reassured on Twitter that his daughter has not been receiving any remuneration for this job.
The information about Kinga Duda's new function appeared on Wednesday on Twitter. President Andrzej Duda reacted to one of the posts, confirmed the news and reassured that his daughter has not been receiving any remuneration for her job at the Chancellery.
According to the President's Chancellery, Kinga Duda has been appointed as social advisor in August 2020.
"The president picks his own advisors. They advise him in a number of fields. That's normal and natural" - presidential aide Andrzej Dera told TVN24.
Asked about Kinga Duda's responsibilities, he replied: "She's an advisor in her field of specialisation. As a lawyer, arbitration specialist, and Polish-American relations expert, she's very skillful".
Kinga Duda's experience
Just as her father, Kinga Duda was born in Kraków. She's 25 years old. In 2019, she completed law studies at the Jagiellonian University. She also received a post-graduate degree in American law at the CUA Columbus School of Law in Washington.
At the end of her studies in Kraków, Kinga Duda became a laureate of a prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The main prize was an internship at a London law firm dealing with economic arbitration, which Kinga Duda completed between February and July 2020.
Earlier on in 2019, Kinga Duda worked in a renowned law firm in Poland, specialising in new technologies and public procurement. Furthermore, she took part in many international competitions in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and gained professional experience in many Polish and international law firms, as well as in the European Parliament.
In 2019, Kinga Duda did voluntary work for the President's Chancellery, in the Emergency Legal Assistance Office.
She specialises in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as private international law.
Kinga Duda is the youngest of the thirteen social advisers listed at the website of the President's Chancellery. The president also has seven fully-employed advisers.
