President Andrzej Duda officially appointed new cabinet ministers on Tuesday. Henryk Kowalczyk has has become deputy prime minister and minister of agriculture, Kamil Bortniczuk has taken over as sports and tourism minister, Anna Moskwa will head climate ministry, Grzegorz Puda is the new minister of development funds and regional policy, while Piotr Nowak - minister of development and technology.
During an official ceremony in the Presidential Palace in Warsaw on Tuesday, President Andrzej Duda appointed Henryk Kowalczyk as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Kowalczyk has replaced Grzegorz Puda, who will now stand at the helm of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, which has been separated from the Finance Ministry.
As a result, Tadeusz Kościński will now be responsible only for the Ministry of Finance.
Kamil Bortniczuk will now head the new Ministry of Sport and Tourism, which has been separated from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński will keep the reins of the latter.
Michał Kurtyka stepped down as Climate and Environment Minister and has been replaced by Anna Moskwa.
Furthermore, President Duda has appointed Piotr Nowak as Minister of Development and Technology, a role for which Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has been responsible so far.
"The Presidential Palace is open to you, I will cooperate with you and try my best to make our cooperation as good as possible, to make sure we work together, with mutual understanding," the president said.
