At a press conference held on Friday morning, PM Donald Tusk announced names of four new cabinet ministers. They will replace the previous four ministry heads who are to run in the upcoming election to the European Parliament: Marcin Kierwiński, Borys Budka, Krzysztof Hetman, and Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.
Tusk said that Special Services Coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak would replace Kierwiński as interior minister, while Hanna Wróblewska would take over the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from Sienkiewicz.
Furthermore, Jakub Jaworowski will stand at the helm of the Ministry of State Assets, replacing Budka. Krzysztof Paszyk will step in for Hetman as minister of development and technology.
"Those who know and remember me from the olden days, from my first tenure as PM, are aware that no one - including myself - should get used to thinking they are eternal," the prime minister said.
"Public interest is the only thing that counts, state interest," he added.
Although President Andrzej Duda is set to officially confirm the new ministers on Monday, Tusk said they would begin carrying out their duties immediately.
