The National Electoral Commission (PKW) has not found any violations of the electoral law that could, in their view, have affected the overall vote count and final election results - the PKW wrote in a report on this year's parliamentary results.
"Based on the available documents and information on the course of the vote and elections, the National Electoral Commission has not found any violations of the electoral law that could, in their view, have affected the overall vote count and final election results," reads a statement published on Monday at the PKW website.
The authors of the statement stressed that after the president ordered the parliamentary elections, which took place on August 6, the PKW carried out its lawful duties and provided legal and organisational help to institutions and electoral administration, to electoral committees and voters. Furthermore, apart from traditional communication channels, the internet was also widely used. For the whole duration of the election campaign, pkw.gov.pl and wybory.gov.pl websites were available.
The vote - reads the statement - went very peacefully, without major incidents. Not many complaints, questions and remarks from voters were submitted on the day of the election. In singular cases voters intervened when their names had not been found in registers. If the complaints had turned out justified, the electoral committees were undertaking all necessary steps to allow the voters to take part in the election.
The elections to the Sejm and the Senate had been observed by the OSCE envoys. The have been kept up to date regarding the Polish electoral law, including provisions on organisation process. The OSCE representatives have been monitoring the voting process in several dozen constituencies. Within the framework of cooperation and experience exchange, the PKW invited representatives of central electoral authorities from Lithuania, Slovakia and Estonia.
