Two of the four further hostages killed by Hamas were Polish citizens, Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday (June 4). "Our hearts go out to the sorrowed families," the MFA said on X.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that they confirmed the death of four more Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity.
"We are deeply saddened by the confirmation of the deaths of 4 more hostages abducted by Hamas, among them two Polish citizens.
"Our hearts go out to the sorrowed families," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on X.
"Poland reiterates its call for a ceasefire in Gaza and the immediate release of hostages," the MFA added.
According to the Times of Israel, the deceased hostages are 79-year-old Chaim Peri, 84-year-old Amiram Cooper, 80-year-old Joram Metzger, and 51-year-old Nadav Popplewell. The IDF did not provide the circumstances of their deaths, citing an ongoing investigation.
So far, the IDF has confirmed the deaths of 41 hostages out of the 120 whom Hamas has not released. On October 7, the Palestinian group abducted 251 people.
