Foreign minister Jacek Czaputowicz will meet with his German counterpart heiko Maas on Monday in Hermęże near Oświęcim, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Thursday.
A joint press conference Polish and German foreign ministers has been scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m.
Heiko Maas was expected to come to Poland in August, as minister Czaputowicz informed last month.
"We will continue our talks, the dialogue is ongoing," reassured Mr Czaputowicz.
Last month, Polish MFA also said that he is a supporter of "rejuvenating" the Weimar Triangle, as well as of holding meetings within the format. He also said that Poland has a different vision of EU than France has and that Polish standpoint is closer to the German vision of the union. "When there's such a big gap between standpoints and visions, like the one between Poland and France, it's hard to hold any meaningful dialogue," the minister indicated. In July, Mr Czaputowicz reminded that deputy MFA's met within the Weimar Triangle format. He also expressed his hope to see French President Macron in December at COP24 in Katowice. He also mentioned that recently, meetings between Angela Merkel and Morawiecki became very frequent. The last meeting of the two took place in early July in London during the Berlin Process summit. Last time when the German foreign minister Heiko Maas visited Poland was in March, after new German government was appointed. His visit directly preceeded Angela Merkel's trip to Poland.
