The captain of a PLL LOT flight between Warsaw and Kraków proposed to a flight attendant on board. The Polish carrier has posted a video of the unusual engagement on social media.
"The first such engagement on board!" - LOT Polish Airlines said on social media on Monday (April 22). "You won't see anything more heartwarming today," the carrier assured in a Facebook post regarding captain Konrad and flight attendant Paula.
In a video published by PLL LOT, the captain of the flight, Konrad, welcomes the passengers on board of an Embraer 195 ahead of departure for Kraków and, as per usual, informs them about the estimated travel time and the weather in the city of destination.
Next, he moved on to the unexpected part of the message. "Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to take a short moment of your time. Today is a very special day for me. Today, on board of this aircraft, we have a person very important to me, and a big part of our family. My most beautiful flight attendant, who is in the back of the plane at the moment," the captain said, waving to his soon-to-be fiancée. "A year and a half back I met the most wonderful person, who totally changed my life, completely," he added in a faltering voice.
Marriage proposal on board
"You are my absolute treasure, a fulfillment of my wildest freams," the pilot said, getting down on one knee. "Therefore, I have something I'd like to ask you, my love. Would you like to become my wife?" - he proposed.
As we could hear in the video, the passengers clapped and cheered. One of them asked whether Paula accepted the proposal. "She said 'yes'" - the captain replied. "And now let me take you to Kraków," he added.
