Once again the movie "Cold War" by Paweł Pawlikowski is in the limelight. It was among the five films nominated for the British Independent Film Awards in the category of Best Foreign Independent Film. The other films in the category were "Kafarnaum" (dir. Nadine Labaki, USA, Liban), "The Rider" (dir. Chloé Zhao, USA), "Roma" (dir. Alfonso Cuarón, Mexico, USA) and "Shoplifters" (dir. Hirokazu Koreeda, Japan). The awards which are taking place for the 21st time are the most important awards, aside from the BAFTAs, in the British film industry.
