According to the latest political parties support poll by Kantar Public, Civic Coalition (KO) overtook Law and Justice (PiS) in the lead by 1 percentage point, with 27% of respondents declaring support for the largest opposition formation. 26% would support the ruling PiS party. In June, the same poll showed 29% declaring support for PiS, and 23% for KO. According to this month's survey, four other parties would also win seats in the Sejm: Szymon Hołownia's Poland 2050, the Left, Confederation, and Polish People's Party-Polish Coalition.
If parliamentary elections were held in mid-July of this year, Civic Coalition (KO) would win (27% of votes) ahead of Law and Justice (PiS) (26%) - according to the latest Kantar Public poll.
According to "Gazeta Wyborcza", it's the first time since April 2015 when KO came ahead of PiS in polls.
According to the poll, four other parties would also win seats in the Sejm: Szymon Hołownia's Poland 2050 (8%), the Left (8%), Confederation (6%), and Polish People's Party-Polish Coalition (5%).
Three parties would not secure enough votes to make it to the parliament: Kukiz'15 (3%), Jarosław Gowin's Accord (1%), and AgroUnia (1%).
Kantar Public also points out the following changes compared to a similar poll from June, 2022: increase in support for Civic Coalition by 4 percentage points, for Confederation (+2pp), PSL-Polish Coalition (+1pp), and for AgroUnia (+1pp); decrease in support for Law and Justice (-3pp), and for Poland 2050 (-2pp). The Left and Accord parties had the support in June and July.
Among the overall number of respondents who declared will to take part in the election, 15% were undecided who they would support (4pp less than in June's poll).
A total of 69% of those asked declared they would take part in the election, of which 34% were fully decided, whereas 35% said they would probably partake. 20% expressed the opposite opinion, of which 13% said they probably would not vote, and 7% - they would definitely not vote. 11% said they did not know whether they would take part in the election.
The pollster also compared the July's poll with that from June. The percentage of people definitely wanting to vote increased by 4pp, whereas percentage of those considering voting decreased by 3pp. At the same time, percentage of those considering not to vote increased by 1pp, while percentage of people certain they would not take part remained unchanged. Percentage of people undecided whether to vote or not decreased by 2pp.
The poll by Kantar Public was carried out on July 15-20, 2022, on a representative sample of 985 adult residents of Poland, based on a computer-based personal interviewing technique (CAPI).
