Polish government seeks to extend ban on international flights to June 6, and on domestic flights until the end of May, Polish Press Agency (PAP) informed on Friday. Furthermore, Health Ministry announced it would recommend to allow hosting weddings for up to 50 people.
Poland plans to extend a ban on international flights by two weeks until June 6 due to the coronavirus pandemic, state-run news agency PAP said on Friday citing infrastructure ministry documents. A ban on domestic flights will be extended by eight days until May 31, PAP also said.
Poland's state-owned airline PLL LOT said earlier in May that it would not resume flights before the end of May.
As of Friday, Poland has reported 20,379 coronavirus cases, including 973 deaths.
Deputy Health Minister Jan Cieszyński said on Friday that the ministry would recommend allowing organising wedding parties to up 50 guests, as part of the next stage of lifting coronavirus restrictions. "We're working on the details," Cieszyński said.
Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced data on Friday showing retail sales in April drop by 22,9 percent year to year, and by 12,3 percent compared to the previous month.
