The presidential campaign will begin on January 8 next year, Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia announced on Friday. "I won’t give you the exact election date yet," he said, clarifying that he first needed to consult with the National Electoral Commission. "It will definitely be in May," he added.
Speaker of the Sejm and leader of Poland 2050, Szymon Hołownia, announced on Friday (November 22) evening during a meeting with residents of Rypin (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) that the 2025 presidential campaign will officially begin on January 8.
"Today, I want to tell you that the presidential campaign in our country will start on January 8 next year," he declared.
"On January 8, we say: the campaign begins. It marks the start of the process where candidates can transparently compete, collect signatures, and ensure that the elections are conducted properly. That means in an atmosphere of calm, fair play, and normal, substantive discussion - without tricks or scheming," Hołownia elaborated.
"The campaign will definitely begin on January 8, and I hope it ends well for us. That’s the news I have for you because we’ve been working on it today," he added.
"I won’t give you the exact election date yet because there are a few options," Hołownia said, clarifying that he first needs to consult with the National Electoral Commission. He confirmed, however: "It will definitely be in May."
