Poland's Health Ministry informed on Friday that 11 more people died due to COVID-19, and 265 new coronavirus infections were reported. In total, 37,216 infections and 1562 deaths have been reported.
New confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the following voivodeships: Silesian (88), Lubusz (25), Masovian (23), Lesser Poland (19), Greater Poland (17), Łódź (16), Subcarpathian (16), Lower Silesian (13), Lublin (13), Opole (9), Pomeranian (9), West Pomeranian (8), Świętokrzyskie (4), Podlaskie (2), Warmian-Masurian (2) and Kuyavian-Pomeranian (1).
The ministry also informed about the death of 11 infected persons, aged between 61 and 93, all of which had co-occurring conditions.
Therefore, the total number of coronavirus cases reported in Poland so far has gone up to 37,216, of which 1562 turned out fatal.
As of Friday (July 10), 26,048 patients have recovered after contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus, 1597 infected person were in hospitals, of which 66 were hooked to ventilators, according to the health ministry.
Furthermore, it was reported that 86,712 persons were placed in quarantine, and 21,754 were under sanitary-epidemiological supervision.
Within the last 24 hours, more than 24,2 coronavirus tests were carried out. In total, 1,744,631 samples, taken from 1,548,706 persons, have been tested so far, the ministry informed.
More than 12.36 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 554,949 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
