Poland's total number of COVID-19 cases surpassed 2 million on Friday, according to health ministry data, as Poland grapples with a third wave of the pandemic.
The Ministry of Health informed on Friday about 25,998 new coronavirus cases and the death of 419 COVID patients.
Poland has had 2,010,244 coronavirus cases and 48,807 deaths in total since the start of the pandemic, the ministry data showed. Poland had 25,998 new coronavirus cases on Friday.
The infections number was higher than a week ago by 7,223. On March 12, the health ministry had reported 18,775 cases, compared to which there was 38,5-percent spike.
The average daily infections rate for the last 7 days amounted to 20,275, which was the highest since November 23, 2020.
Since the start of the pandemic Poland has reported 2,010,244 infection cases and 48,807 COVID-related deaths.
