Poland's Health Ministry informed on Tuesday about 14,396 new coronavirus infection cases and the death of 372 COVID-19 patients. Since the start of the pandemic, Poland has reported 1,931,921 infections and 47,578 deaths.
The highest number of the 14,396 infections - 2,347 - were reported in the Mazowieckie province, where the country's capital Warsaw is located.
The ministry also informed about the death of 372 infected persons. 79 people died directly because of COVID-19, whereas 293 had co-occurring medical conditions.

Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska told public broadcaster Polskie Radio that the coming two, three weeks would be very difficult "and will show if Poland can tackle the third wave of the pandemic". He added that, according to forecasts, the third wave should be between March and April, and daily infection rate could jump even up to 30,000 cases.
Mr Kraska also commented on the situation regarding using AstraZeneca vaccine.
"We're waiting for an official statement by the European Medicines Agency. We expect it to be issued most likely today or tomorrow, and only then we will make a decision based on the agency's recommendations" - said the deputy minister.
