Three people suffered injuries after a helicopter crashed into a lake in Mikołajki in the Masuria region. "They were rescued from the water and they are all alive" - said the spokesman for Warmian-Masurian fire service Rafał Melnyk. First photos of the accident were sent to us via Kontakt24 platform.
"I can confirm that around 9:30 a.m. we received information that a helicopter with people onboard fell into a lake. One person managed to swim out, two were rescued" - Joanna Dawidczyk from Mrągowo police told TVN24.
Initially, the police informed that the helicopter fell into Mikołajskie Lake. The fire service later specified that it was Tałty Lake, near the Gołębiewski Hotel in Mikołajki.
Spokesman for the Olsztyn fire service Rafał Melnyk said all three people who were onboard were rescued and alive.
The survivors - the pilot and two women - were all conscious, but suffered spine and pelvis injuries. One of them broke a leg. All were taken to a hospital.
Fire service divers from Giżycko and Mrągowo were also called to the search the crash site.
