The changes taking place in Poland are compatible with European laws, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki has told PAP, responding to a question regarding the judicial reform introduced in Poland.
According to the PM, the last few months have confirmed both the international credibility of Poland and the correctness of the path chosen by his government.
"Let the joint declaration of Poland and Israel be an example of this. It puts emphasis on the historical truth about the share of guilt and suffering during WWII. The truth about the Polish suffering and Polish heroism has been better and better noticed. If we stay on this path, it will be even more widely known," the prime minister stressed.
"Poland's good name is a priority for me and we have been applying more and more effective diplomatic tools to look after it," he declared.
Asked about the ongoing judicial reform, the prime minister underlined that "we have been consistently explaining the crux of the reform to our EU partners."
"The changes taking place in Poland are compatible with European laws and norms. Our partners - especially those, who want to build on the basis of common sense and healthy economic politics, and who respect distinctive features of particular states - understand this better and better," he said.
"Poland's voice is being heard better and better and is being shared more often, for instance, as far as refugees are concerned," the PM added.
According to Morawiecki, today's European policy is compatible with Poland's postulates. "There will be no obligatory relocation of refugees," he said, adding that months of negotiations and alliance building "proved our efficiency."
The PM also said that Poland managed to successfully seal the tax system, and underlined that the previous governments had been helpless in this field.
"We have regained tens of billion of (Polish) zlotys for the Polish economy and Polish citizens. Europe has been watching with interest our actions aimed at sealing the tax system, fighting against the VAT mafia and counteracting tax havens," he went on to say, adding that this was what he was being told by European leaders.
"We have been taking care of our democracy and the Polish economy. We have been taking care of Poland's future in Europe," he declared.
