Nearly half of Poles think the quality of democracy in Poland has worsened during 6 years of PiS government, according to the latest poll by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. This opinion was shared by 45 percent of respondents, whereas 28 percent said the quality of democracy in Poland improved under Jarosław Kaczyński's party.
In a poll conducted by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, the respondents were asked the following question: "Has the quality of democracy in Poland during 6 years of PiS government worsened, improved or hasn't changed?".
45 percent of those asked said that it has become worse. In a previous poll in November 2020, the same opinion was shared by 52 percent of respondents. In a poll conducted in September 2019, 36 percent said that the quality of democracy in Poland worsened.
The opposite opinion was shared by 28 percent of respondents in the recent poll. In November 2020, 21 percent said that Polish democracy improved, whereas in September 2019 - 29 percent.
The opinion that the quality of Polish democracy has not change under PiS government was chosen by 16 percent. In last year's poll it was 19 percent, and in 2019 - 28 percent of respondents.
11 percent picked the answer "don't know".
The phone survey was carried out by Kantar on July 9-11, 2021, on a nationwide and representative sample of 1000 adults.
