"Contrary to what Stanisław Żaryn claims, after speaking with doctors I've found out that Roman Giertych is in serious condition" - said the wife of the attorney detained on Thursday. She, thereby, contradicted the opinion of the special services minister-coordinator Stanisław Żaryn, who on Thursday had assessed the attorney's condition as "good". On Friday afternoon, doctors decided that Giertych was fit to be questioned by the prosecutor's office.
Attorney Roman Giertych was detained on Thursday by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, and fainted during a search of his home in Józefów. Shortly after he was taken to a hospital, his daughter Maria Giertych informed at the time.
On Friday morning, the attorney's wife Barbara Giertych wrote on Twitter that "contrary to what Stanisław Żaryn claims, after speaking with doctors I've found out that Roman Giertych is in serious condition". She added that her husband's health and life were at risk.
This way she referred to Mr Żaryn and his tweet posted on Thursday regarding Roman Giertych's condition. "In response to media reports, I inform that the condition of Roman G. detained by the CBA is good. At the moment a routine medical check is being done" - Żaryn tweeted around 9 p.m. on Thursday.
On Friday afternoon, doctors decided that Giertych was fit to be questioned by the prosecutor's office.
The Commissioner for Human Rights Adam Bodnar also commented on Giertych's detention. In a statement issued Thursday evening, he wrote that "circumstances and style of the attorney Roman Giertych's arrest by the CBA officers raise highest concerns and require explanation".
