The minister of justice is a great liability, he appoints incompetent people, who are either frustrated, or ready to satisfy their big ambitions no matter the price - former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Professor Adam Strzembosz, said on Wednesday in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". He added that the hate campaign in the ministry "showed what sort of people the minister appoints".
Professor Adam Strzembosz called upon Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to dismiss the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro. In the video published in the internet, Strzembosz said that "Ziobro is responsible for appointing often frustrated people, ready for all sorts of moral compromises to achieve high positions".
Earlier, on September 11, the Sejm rejected the no confidence vote against Ziobro. PM Morawiecki defended the justice minister that day in his speech.
"Talk wouldn't mean anything"
Strzembosz was a guest of Wednesday's "Fakty po Faktach" in TVN24. Asked if he expected that after his appeal the prime minister would change his opinion about Ziobro, he replied: "I'm not that naive. But he (the prime minister) must know the opinion about his justice minister and his negligence".
Asked if he would like to meet with the prime minister, Strzembosz said: "I said what I wanted to say. I did this publicly, because I know that a face-to-face talk wouldn't mean anything".
"Justice minister is a nuisance"
"I had an opportunity to speak. I wanted very much to expose more than just that there had been a sort of criminal group in the ministry, that was spreading hate against their political adversaries," Strzembosz said.
He pointed out that this was only a part of justice minister's activities. "The scandal of this kind shows something way more important. It revealed what sort of people the minister appoints to managerial positions," he explained.
Professor Strzembosz argued that "the justice minister is a nuisance". "He appoints incompetent people, people of low morals, who are either frustrated, or ready to satisfy their big ambitions no matter the price," the former Chief Justice said.
"He appoints the wrong people. The 'good change' follows, in a sense, and I don't mean to offend anyone, a purely negative selection," said Professor Strzembosz.
