Whoever utters the word "nation" to divide and spread hate, stands against the nation. Whoever covers up depravity and common thievery with the word "nation", commits sacrilege - Civic Platform leader Donald Tusk said in a video he posted on social media to mark Poland's November 11 Independence Day. Tusk also encouraged Poles to "celebrate and rejoice we live in free Poland".
In a video published on Saturday (Nov. 11) morning on social media, Donald Tusk encouraged Poles to celebrate Independence Day. He stressed that the nation is "sacredness".
"Let's reject all that divides us"
"Let's reject all that divides us and take everything that unites us in work and struggle for the freedom and independence of Poland. These words by Władysław Anders sound exceptionally up to date nowadays. The nation connects us all in one. The nation is sacredness each one of us is entitled to and no one can take this right away from us," Tusk said in the video published on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter).
"Whenever someone utters the word 'nation' to divide and spread hate, they stand against the nation. Whenever someone covers up depravity and common thievery with the word 'nation', they commit sacrilege" - he added.
"Let's rejoice we live in free Poland"
"Today our nation celebrates independence. The whole nation, whole Poland. Today, the differences which are the essence of freedom, are of secondary importance. Because today, on November 11, we say: we, the nation, are one. We, the great Polish nation, celebrate the ultimate thing, independent Poland. Dear all, let's celebrate and rejoice we live in free Poland," Civic Platform chief underscored.
