After arriving at the scene, the fire service unit chief went for assessment. The situation involved a boy who had stuck his head in between two concrete pillars at the observation deck at the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science and couldn't get it out," said Marcin Krupka from Warsaw Fire Service.
He added the unit had focused on securing the scene and maintaining psychological support for the child. "They spread some vegetable oil on the concrete pillars and the boy's head, and after properly adjusting its position, they set it free. The child was immediately returned under the care of his mom. The parents said their child did not require medical assistance," the fireman said.
He added that the boy felt all right and the firemen gave him a "rescue teddy bear". "The operation was carried out without the use of special equipment. At that point the mission was over," Krupka said.
