Polish parliament approved on Friday members of the VAT fraud investigative committee. Law and Justice MP Marcin Horała will chair the committee.
The committee will comprise of nine members. In favour of the chosen group were 413 MPs, 2 were against and 4 abstained.
Recommended by the ruling Law and Justice party are Kazimierz Smoliński, Małgorzata Janowska, Marcin Horała, Wojciech Murdzek oraz Andrzej Matusiewicz. Civic Platform will be represented by Zbigniew Konwiński, Modern Party by Mirosław Pampuch, Kukiz' 15 by Marek Jakubiak and PSL-UED by Genowefa Tokarska.
Law and Justice's Marcin Horała will chair the committee. "Among people we want to summon are former finance ministers Jacek Rostowski and Mateusz Szczurek," said Mr Horała.
He added that the first working session is scheduled for Tuesday 24 July.
In early July, the Sejm adopted a resolution regarding summoning of the VAT fraud investigative committee.
It's main goal is to assess the legality of actions taken by the Civic Platform - Polish People's Party coalition regarding VAT and excise tax income and potential negligence in this scope.
The committee will investigate the period between December 2007 and November 2015.
