U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated Donald Tusk on forming the new Polish government. "I look forward to working with Prime Minister Tusk to build on the longstanding, strategic U.S.-Poland partnership," he wrote on the X social media platform. U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that President Joe Biden "looks forward to continuing our work together as close allies".
The Polish parliament on Monday backed Donald Tusk as Poland's new prime minister. In the vote, 248 lawmakers were in favor of Tusk, while 201 were against.
At an official ceremony on Wednesday, President Andrzej Duda sworn in new Prime Minister Donald Tusk and members of his cabinet.

The new Polish prime minister has received congratulations from the leaders of the European Union, Ukraine, and the United States, among others.

Sullivan: president Biden looks forward to work as close allies
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who reports directly to President Joe Biden, also sent his greetings on Wednesday.
"Congratulations Donald Tusk on your election as Poland's prime minister. President of the United States looks forward to continuing our work together as close allies. We value Poland’s partnership on so many issues – support for Ukraine, shared democratic values, energy – to name a few," Sullivan wrote on X.
U.S. ambassador congratulates Tusk
U.S. Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski send his greetings on Tuesday. "On behalf of the United States I would like to congratulate Donald Tusk on being appointed prime minister of Poland. We can't wait to continue our strong partnership with the new government - it's strategically important for both our countries," he wrote on X.
