Kamala Harris, the Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, addressed a letter to the Polish American community. The content of the letter was seen by Fakty TVN correspondent Marcin Wrona. In it, Harris wrote that "the Polish community has played an integral role in shaping the history" of the United States. She added that if she wins the presidential election, she will stand by allies, including Poland, to defend "democratic values and oppose aggressors."
The letter, seen by Fakty TVN U.S. correspondent Marcin Wrona, was sent by Harris on the occasion of Polish American Heritage Month, an annual event celebrated in October by Polish American communities.
The Vice President stated that she honors "the deep roots and enduring contributions of Polish Americans to the United States." "For generations, Polish Americans have enriched our nation with their dedication to family, faith, and community, helping to build a stronger, more vibrant America," she added.
Harris: an integral role in shaping the U.S. history
"From the earliest Polish settlers who arrived in Jamestown in 1608 to the millions of Polish immigrants who came in search of freedom and opportunity, the Polish American community has played an integral role in shaping our country’s story," the Vice President wrote.
"The community has always welcomed and supported successive waves of immigrants from Poland as well, maintaining a strong sense of community and solidarity with those who arrived in later generations. Whether in business, the arts, education, or government, Polish Americans have shown a relentless work ethic, unwavering patriotism, and a strong commitment to the ideals of democracy and justice," the Democratic candidate added.
Harris: the Polish community contributes to every aspect of life
Harris also wrote that, throughout the history of the United States, "Polish Americans have answered the call to serve, fighting for liberty both at home and abroad." "Their legacy is reflected in the lives of those who fought in the American Revolution, and in the countless Polish American service members who have protected our nation’s values on the front lines of wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions," she added.
"Today, more than 9 million Polish Americans call this country home, contributing to every facet of American life. From entrepreneurs and innovators to artists and public servants, the Polish American community continues to shape the diverse and dynamic spirit of the United States," the Vice President emphasized.
Harris: I will stand by our allies, including Poland
The Democratic candidate also addressed the challenges that "our democratic allies and friends, particularly Poland and Ukraine, are facing today."
In this critical moment, she stated, "Donald Trump and JD Vance would side with Putin and force Ukraine to give up large parts of its sovereign territory."
"I will stand with our allies and partners, including Poland, to defend our democratic values and stand up to aggressors. And I will work to ensure Ukraine prevails in this war—for their freedom, and for the free world," she emphasized.
The candidate also referred to the elections that will take place next Tuesday, November 5. "Soon, Americans will choose between leadership that will stand united with our allies, or a failed approach that would have America go it alone. The United States cannot and should not isolate ourselves from the rest of the world. Isolation is not insulation."
"On behalf of the American people, I offer my heartfelt thanks to the Polish American community for your continued contributions to our country. I stand with you in honoring your heritage and celebrating the remarkable legacy of Polish Americans in the United States," she concluded in her letter.
