Polish police on Monday (Dec.4) informed about the death of two officers who had been shot in the head last Friday by Maksymilian F., a 44-year-old wanted man said officers had arrested and wanted to transport to a police station in Wrocław. Police launched a manhunt after the shooting and managed to locate and detain the suspect on Saturday morning. Later that day, he was charged with attempted murder.
Since the shooting on Friday evening, the police was informing that the two wounded officers were in very serious condition. Unfortunately, on Monday afternoon, the police said that one the officers died. Approximately one hour later, it was announced that the second officer also passed away.
Before passing the tragic news about the death of the two officers, the police had been informing that they were in critical condition and the doctors were fighting to save them.
The suspect had had an arrest warrant issued after him as he was due to serve 6 months in prison for fraud. He was spotted and detained by the two officers on patrol. The policemen were transporting the man to a detention centre at Wrocław Krzyki police station. Approximately at 10:40 p.m., the suspect shot both officers in the head.
Maksymilian F. was detained after a manhunt on Saturday morning. A Wrocław police press officer informed at the time that officers spotted the suspect and chased him on foot. Once they overpowered the 44-year-old man, they found he was carrying a firearm.
On Saturday evening, the prosecutor's office charged the 44-year-old Maksymilian F. with attempted murder of two police officers.
Shortly before being charged, the suspect told reporters gathered in front of the prosecutor's office that he did not remember that situation.
The investigators refused to comment on the details of the case. They only informed that the suspect's account of the events was "enigmatic" and that he denied the presented charges.
