West Pomeranian province authorities say that everyone will be able to safely travel to this year's edition of the Pol'and'Rock Festival. This year, "the most beautiful festival in the world" will be held at an airfield in Makowice, Gryfice county.
"Before, during and even after the festival, between Tuesday July 27 and Sunday August 1 the number of regional trains running between Szczecin and Kołobrzeg will be doubled" - said the Marshal of West Pomeranian province Olgierd Geblewicz. The trains will run every hour and terminate at Płoty station, some 5-6 kilometres from the airfield at which the 27th Pol'and'Rock Festival will be held.
"Pol'and'Rock is a huge logistical challenge. We want to ensure safety for all who will decide to come to us" - Geblewicz reassures. He also reminded that the event is subject to COVID restrictions - the festival will be open to 20,000 vaccinated people. In order to get in, a special "pass" will be required.
Festival in the shadow of epidemic
The organisers expect that approximately half of participants, about 10,000 people, will arrive to the festival by train. At the station they will be able to catch a bus that will take them to the airfield. If the number of music fans is greater than expected, more buses will be dispatched.
"The buses will be adjusted to the train timetable, but, of course, we will also take care of all people who decide to arrive in cruise buses for example, so our buses will be departing once filled to full capacity" - said Anna Orzech, a spokeswoman for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
The Pol'and'Rock Festival (until 2017 held under the name Przystanek Woodstock) is one of the biggest and most important music events in Poland. It's organised by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation thanks to the sponsors, sale of gadgets and donations. The festival, called "the most beautiful festival in the world" by its organisers, is meant to express gratitude to volunteers for help in collecting money for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
The 27th edition of the Pol'and'Rock Festival will be held for the first time in Makowice, West Pomeranian province. In previous years, one of the biggest music festivals in Europe was held in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Lubuskie province.
