The U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski, stated in Fakty po Faktach on TVN24 that the U.S.-Poland relationship is the strongest it has ever been, expressing a very optimistic view on Poland’s future.
Asked by the show host Piotr Kraśko about the recently opened U.S. military base in Redzikowo, the ambassador said: "Poland is one of America’s closest allies, who we trust with our most sophisticated military secrets."
"The technology that is involved in that system is super-secret, super sensitive, and we only trust, in this case, the Poles to work with us on it," he explained.
Brzezinski also addressed the results of the U.S. presidential election, mentioning that he is deeply convinced that Donald Trump has a profound affection for the Polish people and Poland itself.
He recounted his experience three weeks prior at a Polish-American Congress conference in Chicago, where Trump had called in to express his admiration and love for Poland and the Polish people.
The ambassador further noted that preparations for the transfer of power were underway. He reiterated his confidence in the strength of U.S.-Polish relations and emphasized his positive outlook on Poland’s future.
Brzezinski: we acknowledge Poland took enormous risks
Brzezinski stated that Washington has great respect for the role Poland has played since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine.
The ambassador thanked President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and former Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak. He added that despite differences, relations with Washington, with the Biden administration, have always been very strong.
Brzezinski emphasized that the security and peace of the Polish people have always been the highest priority, noting that Poland has played an incredible role during Biden's administration because of its response to the conflict in Ukraine.
"Poland’s security is top of mind, including with regards to the base in Redzikowo. ... President Biden sees the risks Poland has taken to protect Ukraine and to support Ukraine," he said.
"And we take Poland’s security seriously."
