Last week, there was not a single day without fatal accidents on Polish roads. According to police statistics, 29 people died in accidents, and 441 were injured. Since the beginning of this year, nearly 1,500 people have lost their lives in road accidents.
Thursday, November 21, was particularly tragic. Ten people died in accidents that day, and 64 others were injured. Tuesday, November 19, was the worst day in terms of the number of people with injuries, with 84 people hurt.
From the beginning of this month until Sunday, November 24, there were 1,182 road accidents in Poland, resulting in 88 deaths. A total of 1,334 people were injured.
In 2024, the most tragic month was October, during which 171 people died in accidents. May was the worst month in terms of the number of injuries, with 2,491 people injured.
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 1,490 people have died in accidents in Poland, and 22,192 have been injured (as of November 24), according to statistics published on policja.pl website.
In an interview with tvn24.pl, Mariusz Kurczyk of the National Police Headquarters (KGP) explained the daily data published on the police website were preliminary.
This means that the final number of accidents, injured, or fatalities may change, particularly due to the death of a person in the following days as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic incident from previous days.
