Three people from the former management of Poland's state-owned fuel giant PKN Orlen were detained on Tuesday, including the former chairman of the board, Jacek K. The detained persons are suspected of a large-scale mismanagement, informed the National Public Prosecutor's Office.
"By the order of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Łódź, three former managers of PKN Orlen were detained on Tuesday, including former chairman of the board Jacek K. The prosecutor will decide whether or not placing them under temporary arrest," informed the prosecutor's office and underscored that the detained persons are former employees of PKN Orlen.
According to the National Public Prosecutor's Office, "the detentions are a result of multithreaded investigation carried out by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Łódź regarding crimes against business trading and revenue crimes".
"The inquiry was initiated by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau's operations, including an inspection of decisions taken in regard to the disposal of property under the contracts for services ordered by PKN Orlen," the prosecution added.
Jacek K. was PKN Orlen's chairman between 2008 and 2015.
