Tragic incident on the premises of one Warsaw's Wawer district schools. During an altercation, a teenager fatally stabbed his peer with "a sharp instrument". We have received the first information at Kontakt 24.
As we've managed to determine, the tragic incident took place at primary school number 195 located at Króla Maciusia street.
"There was a fight"
Tomasz Oleszczuk from Warsaw Police informed that "there was a fight between two young people, one of them attacked the other with a sharp instrument, which resulted in the latter's death," said Oleszczuk
"Police and prosecutor's office are at the scene. Other children are not under any threat," added Oleszczuk in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl reporter.
"Resuscitation was performed"
Spokesperson for the Warsaw police also added that "among other actions taken resuscitation was performed". "Unfortunately, it was ineffective. We will closely examine the scene," said Sylwester Marczak, the spokesperson for the Warsaw police.
"It happened suddendly, momentarily. I was talking with a friend, I looked and saw that they started a scuffle. I thought they would stop shortly because the teacher was already there," one of the students told TVN24 reporter.
According to Marcin Saduś, spokesperson for the Warszawa-Praga District Prosecutor's Office, the investigators refused to provide any further details regarding the incident.
"One of the teachers tried to administer the CPR. Emergency service appeared shortly after. Unfortunately, it was impossible to save the wounded teenager. Police and prosecutor are at the scene. Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski also appeared in the school and said that all children and both families, of the victim and of the attacker will be offered psychological help. He also announced taking necessary steps to prevent such incidents from taking place in the future," said TVN24 reporter Paweł Łukasik.
Cancelled classes
"We've received information regarding the incident. We're in communication with the school's director. We're closely watching all developments," said Andrzej Kulmatycki, the spokesperson for the Education Board in Warsaw.
He later added that a crisis staff has been appointed. "Our employee will be at the school today. We first want to provide psychological help for all people from the school," said Kulmatycki.
Classes have been cancelled
