Central Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested on Tuesday in Warsaw the former chief of Financial Supervision Authority, Marek Ch. He was transported to prosecutor's office in Katowice where he was charged with overstepping the authority of public officer for the benefit of other person.
Former KNF chief Marek Ch. has heard a charge of overstepping the authority of public officer for the benefit of other person, said his lawyer Marcin Kondracki.
He may face up to 10 years in prison.
Attorney Kondracki who during the break in Tuesday's proceedings went out to the journalists, informed that Marek Ch. was giving his statement.
Prosecution did not want to reveal what charges will it bring against the former KNF head.
Earlier on, when being entering the prosecutor's office assisted by CBA officers, Marek Ch. did not answer nay questions.
It wasn't clear how long the hearing would last; it depends on the extent of the testimony. The prosecuion announced that it was still to decide on asking the court for temporary detention.
