A country which closes down its agencies around the world, regresses, a country which opens them, makes progress, said Polish President Andrzej Duda during the official opening of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) office on Tuesday in Sydney.
The PAIH's CEO, Tomasz Pisula pointed out that the bureau in Sydney is its 50th foreign office branch in the world. "The president has been with us since the very beginning. Fifteen months ago, we were honoured by his presence at the launch of the office in Mexico City," he said.
"It's true that since the beginning of my presidency I promised to support these great ambitions, which PAIH has when it comes to facilitating Polish expansion in global markets," Duda noted.
The president pointed out that a country "which shuts down its agencies around the world, regresses, whereas a country which opens them, makes progress, shows its power and ambition."
"Also my meeting with major Australian investors who invest in Poland, shows how much can be done while being open to investments and being determined to expand into international markets," president said.
Andrzej Duda also met with investors and young Polish entrepreneurs working in Australia.
The head of state noted that during his visit to Australia, apart from political talks, including those with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull or Governor General Peter Cosgrove, he also holds meetings encouraging business people to invest in the Polish market.
He noted that this is one of the reasons the Polish-Australian Energy Forum in Sydney takes place. "I am very glad, that this great Polish business is present here and that there are possibilities for the realisation of big economic contracts."
Tuesday is the last day of President Duda's visit to Australia, after which the presidential couple will visit New Zealand.
